Graduation Ceremony EQ 20/21

What a year! We made it!

Thank you all for your support throughout this year. If it wouldn’t be for all the orders of your desired statement furniture pieces, ordered to fit the exact room in your houses, I am not sure we would still be here. Thank you to all of you who continuously encourage us and tell your friends and family about p3 and our men! We definitely appreciate it and get to know incredible people because of y’all. That is definitely huge! And of course a huge thanks to our financial donors, who believe in our cause and in our men, who continue to give every year and thank you to those, who even in the past year donated your birthday or your wedding to p3, and your important people found out about us, THANK YOU!

Due to our „new normal“ here in society, we kept our Graduation Ceremony only for the p3-Team here that was not on vacation, plus some of our interns who supported us this past school year. We enjoyed looking at pictures from this past year, enjoying some delicious Falafel Wraps made by one of our men and like in our tradition, we took gratulated and celebrated the 4 EQ’ler that made it to graduation this year with encouraging words about our favorite moments with them this year, how we’ve seen them grow and our best wishes for them as they start their Ausbildung / Vocational Training next school year, in two weeks in September!

We are very proud of each one of them, of their hard work, in their discipline, in their language, in their communication and understanding of what is asked and expected of them entering the work force here in Germany.

Dawda starts a 3-year vocational training preparation at a beautiful Hotel here in the Black Forest Region, where he will be able to learn how to serve at their Hotel restaurant and also Room Service.

Zaher starts a 3-year vocational training at small 3-person company as an Anlagemechaniker in the SHK Area here in Freiburg! He is currently looking for a room in Freiburg, so that he does not have such a long way from his current home in Hinterzarten, since they do start work at 7am!

Youssef starts a 3-year vocational training as Carpenter and was even accepted at the vocational school for Carpenters here in Freiburg, which is really hard to get it into!

Merhawi starts a 3-year vocation training as Carpenter with us here at p3, and we are super excited to keep working with Merhawi! He was also accepted at the vocational school for Carpenters here in Freiburg! So Youssef and Merhawi will be able to attend their first year of vocational training together!

Two of our starting Team did not make it to the end of the year out of different personal reasons. We were able to still accompany them through their struggles and together tried different solutions and external partners, but unfortunately, this was not possible. Here at p3, we take these cases very seriously and have taken the time to analyze how we could have reacted or identified the challenges together with the men earlier in the school year, so that we can act faster for future cases. We still have contact with both of them and they know that our doors are always open for them, if they need us.

Thanks again for all your support and encouragement this year. We could have not done it without you! Yes, you!

Until next time,

Cynthia
